Sarah Ruden was born and raised in rural Ohio and educated at the University of Michigan, Harvard and Johns Hopkins. She has lived and worked in Africa for 10 years and is completing her fifth book, a translation of Vergil’s Aeneid for Yale University Press.
Sarah is a Quaker, with a particular interest in Christianity in relation to the developing world. When not writing, editing or translating, she has taught as a volunteer in the black townships of Cape Town.
